What is Biofilm
Biofilms are complex communities of microorganisms that adhere to surfaces and form slimy goo, which contains bacterial excrement. In the human mouth, biofilms can cause a variety of infections, including dental caries, periodontal gum disease, otitis media, musculoskeletal infections, necrotizing fasciitis, biliary tract infections, osteomyelitis, prostatitis, endocarditis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and even certain types of cancer.
